Lea Clausen — beloved grandmother of five, mother of three, wife of one; the keeper of the house, the protector of normalcy, the rascal — has passed away. I don’t know either what I am feeling or what I ought to feel. I am grateful that her suffering is over. I am grateful that she is sharing in the fellowship of the Triune One. I am grateful for her love and life and memory.
I miss her.
I wish that I had been there with her, holding her hand at the end. My mother, sister, and cousin were. I am grateful for that, them.
Sufjan is right:
Oh the glory that the lord has made
And the complications when I see his face
In the morning in the windowOh the glory when he took our place
But he took my shoulders and he shook my face
And he takes and he takes and he takes
I love you Grandma. We all love you.
